特定非営利活動法人プラネットファイナンスジャパンでワークショップの運営を担当しております櫟木と申します。
弊団体が東京にて開催しております『マイクロファイナンスに関する体験ワークショップ』は多くの方からご好評を頂いております。そこで今回はさらに多くの方にマイクロファイナンスを知っていただくために関西にて学生向けのマイクロファイ ナンスワークショップを開催いたします。
今回の体験ワークショップのテーマは
「Mind & Action in basic skills」です。
学生向けのマイクロファイナンスワークショップを開催いたします。講義やマイクロファイナンスのロールプレイングゲームを通じて、マイクロファイナンスに関する基礎知識と問題意識に共有出来ればと思います。
また、本ワークショップでは、途上国で行われている「マイクロファイナンス」に関わるプラネットファイナンス ジャパンの取り組む活動の紹介を通して、様々な途上国の課題への取り組みやアプローチそしてトレンドなどを皆様と共に考えていきたいと思 います。
マイクロファイナンスを学びの場としてはもちろん、ディスカッションの練習や国際協力に興味のある方々との交流の場としても是非ご活用ください。

半世紀ぶりの大規模水害の被災者に対するご支援をお願いします--タイ、カンボジア大規模水害被災者支援ニュースリリースvol.1
公益社団法人シャンティ国際ボランティア会（会長 若林恭英／所在地 東京都新宿区／以下SVA）の事業対象国である、タイとカンボジアが大規模な水害被害に見舞われています。それに伴い、被災者救援を開始します。
今年の7月からタイ北部などで豪雨が降った影響でタイは、過去50年で最悪の大洪水に襲われて深刻な被害が出ています。タイ政府の10月18日の発表によると、全国で3分の1に当たる23県が冠水。これまでに307人が死亡。被災した家屋は、270万を超えています。被災者は、全国で800万人が被災。タイ北部で降った雨がチャオプラヤー川を南下して、中部タイのアユタヤーを中心に拡大しバンコクに一部にも浸水しています。
洪水の被害は、さらに拡大し続けて首都バンコクまで迫り、19日には、スクムパン・バンコク都知事は、７つの地区の住民に対して所持品を高い場所へ移すよう注意を呼びかけました。タイの主要な工業団地6カ所も既に冠水し工場が操業停止し甚大な被害。10,368の工場等が閉鎖し、352,025人が一時解雇や失業の危機に面しています。今後も大雨が降り続く見通しで、10月末の海の大潮と重なり被害の一層の拡大が警告されています。
カンボジアでも、2000年以来といわれる今年の洪水では、およそ27万世帯が被災、死者200人以上といわれています。特に地方都市部の農村地域においては、稲作地および農作地が冠水し、大打撃を受けています。洪水によりアクセスが閉ざされた村々の中には、1か月以上取り残され、明日の食糧もままならない状態の村もあります。
弱者に目を向けた活動を行っていきます
タイでは、アユタヤー県、パトンタニー県、バンコク近郊の県、バンコク都の、洪水被災地域とその中にある避難所に、緊急救援セットを配布していきます。緊急セットには、タオル（大と小）、インスタントラーメン、インスタントお粥、ライター、懐中電灯、蚊取線香、生理用品、家庭用常備薬セットを入れています。また子ども、病人、障がい者、高齢者、ミャンマー人等の移民労働者等で援助が届き難い社会的弱者に目を向けてまいります。
カンボジアは、シエムリアップ州の農村部を中心に、食料品の配布を行います。

2011年は国連が定めた「国際森林年（the International Year of Forests)」。
これを受けて今年は環境保全をテーマとした様々なイベントや活動が行われ、注目を集めております。
そんな中、ヒマラヤ保全協会は40年前からネパール・ヒマラヤにおいて植林をメインとした環境保全活動を展開してきました。今回のワークショップは現在の当会の活動の基礎を築き上げたヒマラヤ保全協会創設者川喜多二郎先生にスポットを当てます。

【概要】
川喜田二郎先生は、ヒマラヤ・マナスル登山隊の一員としてネパール・ヒマラヤに入り、その後、ネパール各地を探検、環境問題の深刻化、環境保全の必要性に直面してヒマラヤ山村において技術協力を開始しました。この登山・探検から技術協力への底流には現場に根ざす思想が首尾一貫として流れ、その実践形態としてアクションリサーチが生みだされました。

2011年10月17日現在、カンボジアでは洪水により２５０人近い死者が出ている模様です。

東南アジアの洪水被害が深刻化していますが、カンボジアでも被害が拡大しており、
田んぼや畑が大きな被害を受けています。
（日本経済新聞10月13日。記事より抜粋：JICAカンボジア事務所がまとめたところ、水田など農業地域44万5500ヘクタールが被害を受けたほか、道路や橋梁、学校などの各種インフラも利用できない状況が続いており「普及の目処は立っていない」（同事務所）とのことです。）
