The Council of Okayama International Non-governmental Networks (COINN) is a specified nonprofit corporation whose members are groups in Okayama Prefecture working on international exchange and cooperation. Its website introduces many member groups, including the Okayama Prefecture association of former Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers, the Association to Support Education in Asia, the Okayama UNESCO Association, the Kurashiki International Exchange Association and Negros Campaign Okayama.
The website shares event information, NGO activity presentations, COINN activity reports, volunteer recruitment and volunteer diaries. COINN has also held a symposium on building multicultural communities that respect diversity, and published a report on it.
In addition, it is commissioned by Bizen City to handle work such as taking reservations for the international exchange villas on Shiraishi Island and at Hattoji.

Why this organization's work stands out
By connecting groups with different fields and areas of work under one council, local information on international cooperation and exchange becomes easier to find. It can also help people in Okayama who are interested in international cooperation find a way in.
The publication of symposium findings on building multicultural communities as a report is also a useful reference.

Editor's comment
It is reassuring to be able to learn about the work of many local groups in one place, not just a single organization.
Member group profiles and event information are on the official website. If you live in Okayama, please take a look.
