The International Development Center of Japan (IDCJ) is a comprehensive think tank specializing in development and international cooperation. Since its establishment in 1971 as an incorporated foundation, it has taken part in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of policies and projects related to official development assistance (ODA), with research, study and training as its pillars.

In 2010 it converted to a general incorporated foundation and, in the same year, established a subsidiary, IDCJ Inc. Consulting business, including commissioned studies, and human resource development business were transferred to this company. Its fields of expertise are wide-ranging, including public administration and finance, regional development, social development, agricultural development, industrial development, transport and evaluation, and its activities extend across the world, including Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Today it aims to contribute broadly to international cooperation and socioeconomic development, not limited to aid. Its website introduces a variety of initiatives, such as presentations of results from its 50th anniversary research series, training such as professional statistical analysis workshops, seminars for developing international development professionals, and a Facebook page introducing education in Gaza.

When we think of international cooperation, we tend to picture support in the field, but behind it lies steady work such as research, evaluation and training. IDCJ is an organization that has long honed this kind of supporting strength.

The reports and seminar information it publishes also seem useful for those who want to learn about international cooperation. Why not take a look at the official website?
