FTCJ partners with local NGOs in India, the Philippines and elsewhere to support children whose rights are denied by poverty, including street children, child laborers and Indigenous children. In March 2027 it will hold an 8-day study tour to India, one of its partner countries.

Participants will visit Kolkata, Delhi and Agra, home of the Taj Mahal, and see the projects supported by CCD, the local partner NGO FTCJ has worked with since 2001. By meeting children at kindergartens and primary schools, visiting homes and a village that received goat support, participants can learn how support from Japan reaches local people and helps them become self-reliant.

Junior high school students can join on their own, and high school and university students, working adults and parent-child pairs are all welcome. Details and applications are explained at the online briefings and on the organization's website.

Key points

  • Meet children at supported schools and visit a village that received goat support
  • Volunteer at a facility founded by Mother Teresa, plus sightseeing at the Taj Mahal
  • Open to junior high students and older; online briefings on Oct 29 and Nov 26

Why we recommend this event

It is rare to see for yourself how support works on the ground and to hear directly from local people.

Briefings are held beforehand, so simply listening in can be useful. The tour looks accessible for families and students alike.

“I was drawn to being able to see for yourself how support reaches people on the ground. The visit to the goat-support village stands out.”

“The goat-support village that Aoba mentioned stayed with me too. With a briefing on October 29, it could be a good first step for anyone on the fence.”

“Beyond the points you both raised, I confirmed that the fee, dates and the first-10-participants condition match the source.”
