AAR Japan, which supports refugees and people with disabilities in 18 countries, has opened its autumn 2026 call for "Marugoto Project Donations." Donors fund an entire project in one donation, for projects that field staff say urgently need support.
The projects include delivering about 400 desk-chairs to public schools in Pakistan; providing assistive devices and rehabilitation to about 40–50 Rohingya refugees with disabilities in Bangladesh; and installing a fence at a primary school in a refugee settlement in Zambia. In Tajikistan, classrooms and other facilities will be built for a vocational school for people with disabilities, and in Myanmar the funds will help keep a vocational training school running.
Donors receive progress and results reports from AAR staff, and can have their name or company name displayed on stickers or plates attached to the outputs. A bedding project in Zambia has already been funded and is closed.
Key points
- Projects in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Zambia, Tajikistan and Myanmar
- Whole-project funding from 1.5 million yen per unit
- Progress and results reported by staff
Why this news is worth noting
Because each project's use of funds is spelled out, it is easy to picture where support goes and what it achieves.
The projects support the foundations for living with dignity, such as places to learn, freedom of movement and the skills to work, and can be a useful reference for companies and groups considering social contribution.

Editor's comment
Knowing that a donation leads to children learning and to independence for people with disabilities makes it feel close to home.
