FIWC Kyushu is an international cooperation student group led by students in Fukuoka, active both in Japan and abroad. FIWC also has committees in the Kanto and Tokai regions, and this group works as the Kyushu committee.
In Japan, it mainly works in Fukuchi Town and Yabakei Town and also holds welcome camps for new members. Overseas, it visits the Philippines, China, Nepal and Indonesia to hold work camps on site.
Along with an annual schedule, activity records and a blog, it publishes a newsletter introducing its activities every half year. It also invites new members to "try valuable experiences that only students can have."
Key points
- An international cooperation student group run mainly by Fukuoka students
- Domestic activities in Fukuchi and Yabakei, and overseas work camps in four countries
- Half-yearly newsletters and report meetings on its overseas camps
Why this organization's work stands out
Students plan and run the activities themselves, covering both local activities in Japan and overseas work camps. It looks like an approachable first step for students who want to start with international cooperation.
Its activities are shared through its blog, newsletters and report meetings.

Editor's comment
Work camps, where you work side by side with friends and meet local people, sound like a valuable experience that only students can have.
The schedule and how to join are on the official website. Please take a look.
