Global Festa JAPAN 2026 will be held in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo, on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2026. It is one of Japan’s largest international cooperation events, bringing together organizations working on international cooperation and the SDGs. Admission is free. For anyone who wants to learn about NGO activities, or families who want to experience world cultures together, these two days are a gateway to international cooperation.
Experience the Connection Between Daily Life and the World in Shinjuku
Now in its 35th year, the event will see NGOs and NPOs, embassies, international organizations, companies and others set up booths to present their activities and sell goods at the Triangle Plaza of Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, where hands-on workshops are also planned. Outdoors in Shinjuku Central Park, there will be music and dance stages and food trucks serving dishes from around the world. In addition to the on-site event, online streaming is also planned; details can be found on the official website.
Organizations Working on Education and Water Issues Will Also Exhibit
Do take a look at the announcements from exhibiting organizations. The Japanese National Commission for UNESCO (Japan UNESCO Association Federation) plans to introduce its activities, centered on Cambodia, including the World Terakoya Movement and the Postcards of Missed Chances campaign. WaterAid Japan also plans panel quizzes, handouts and activity introductions at Triangle Plaza on both days.
Visiting booths that catch your eye and asking how to take part in their activities, or about the situation in the field, is one of the joys of the event. Even if you are new to international cooperation, why not look for an organization that connects with your own interests?
