日本の非営利NGOについて幅広い知識を身につけたい方のためのコースです。日本国内の問題、および地域のNGO組織に関する知識を深 めたいと考えている方向けで、実際の問題について考察します。諸地域の問題に対する日本の非営利NGOの取り組みをより深く理解するために、オンライン・ リーディングを採用しています。また、問題とその解決手法から得られた情報を応用するロールプレイを行います。NGOが実際に取り組んでいる事例を学ぶこ とで、NGOの手法に対する理解を深めます。授業では、積極的にディスカッションやグループワークへの参加が求められます。学期末には、自分が選んだ NGOの事業について発表します。
講師についてSarajean Rossitto
東京在住のNGOコンサルタントとして、NGOの活動に必要なスキルの開発やNPOのプロジェクト開発などに取り組んでいる。 NPOを中心とした日米の人材交流・人材育成を手がける日米コミュニティ・エクスチェンジ（JUCEE）のコーディネーターを4年にわたって務めた後、東 京YMCAに6年間勤務。米コロンビア大学で東アジアの人権問題を学び、社会学の学士号と国際関係論の修士号を取得している。

Japan’s Nonprofit Sector & Japanese society / Social Issues. (NGO 212)

Overview:
This course covers some of the main challenges facing Japanese society today and how nonprofit NGOs deal with those issues. After reviewing the development of civil society in Japan, each week covers a specific issue and the approaches use to meet the needs of different people. This issues-based course is for anyone interested in deepening their knowledge of the work of local nonprofit organizations and current issues facing Japanese society.
