持続可能な開発目標に関する問題や、非営利NGO部門で実際に用いられている戦略について理解を深めたいと考える方にお勧めのコースです。毎週異なるトピックを取り上げ、問題解決方法を探るディスカッションを行います。アクティビティを通して、社会問題と問題が起きた際に直面する圧力について理解を深めるとともに、問題に対する考え方や捉え方について再考するきっかけを得ることができます。問題の原因やそれによってもたらされる影響、また個々の問題の関連についてより深い理解を得るために、毎週課題が出されます。課題には、オンライン・リーディングやディスカッションの事前準備としてのオンラインリサーチなどがあります。授業ではディスカッションやグループワークに加え、学期末に自分が選んだ問題についてプレゼンテーションを行います。
2016年より、このコースは持続可能な開発目標に関するグローバルキャンペーンに基づいて行われます。講義時間を減らし、アクティビティの時間をさらに増やす予定です。
講師について
Sarajean Rossitto
東京在住のNGOコンサルタントとして、NGOの活動に必要なスキルの開発やNPOのプロジェクト開発などに取り組んでいる。NPOを中心とした日米の人材交流・人材育成を手がける日米コミュニティ・エクスチェンジ（JUCEE）のコーディネーターを4年にわたって務めた後、東京YMCAに6年間勤務。米コロンビア大学で東アジアの人権問題を学び、社会学の学士号と国際関係論の修士号を取得している。

Course Details
NGO 201 is for anyone who would like to understand more about current issues including the Global Goals for Sustainable Development and the strategies used by nonprofit-NGOs to deal with them. Each week we review a different theme and then discuss possible ways to tackle problems. Activities will help us understand the problems and pressures people face allowing everyone for a chance to rethink our assumptions while also learning more. Weekly assignments include online readings and online research which guide discussion so that class participants will better understand causes, impacts and connections between of a wide array of issues. Participants take part in class discussion, group-work and a final presentation on an issue of their choice. From 2016, NGO 201 will be based on the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Global Campaign. It will also include more activities and less lecture time than in the past.
Application Deadline for Spring 2016 is Tuesday, January 12th but you can join this class if you apply and pay by Tuesday Jan 26.
